Are owner builders required to display site signs?
Owner builders are required to exhibit site signage on their site. The sign must comply with the following:

  • Be made of waterproof materials
  • Have a surface area of not less than 0.5m2
  • Have printed letters not less than 5cm high
  • Have the owner builder permit number
  • Be easily legible from the nearest street alignment

      What happens if a sign is not displayed?
      Failure to erect a sign that complies with the Queensland Building Services Authority Act 1991 - s52 can result in being fined or prosecuted by BSA.
