What contract should be used?
All domestic building work valued at over $3,300 MUST be covered by a contract that complies with the Domestic Building Contracts Act 2000 (DBC Act). You should carefully check your contract documentation and, if necessary, seek legal advice before signing to ensure it complies with the Act - click here to access information about BSA's contracts.


Note - if your contractor is using one of BSA's downloadable contracts you should ensure that you receive a copy of the agreed to contract BEFORE signing and dating either copy. The contractor commits an offence if they do not provide you with a completed copy. BSA is able to investigate offences committed against the DBC Act - see below.
