Owner Builders

Important Changes For Owner Builders From 1 December 2006

As from 1 December 2006 if you want to carry out building work on your own land, you will only need to obtain a BSA Owner Builder permit where the value of that work exceeds $11,000.

In other words if you want to carry out building work on your own property after 1 December 2006 where the value is $11,000 or below you will no longer be required to obtain an owner builder permit.

From 1 December there is no need to obtain an owner builder permit where the value of work is below $11,000 or below.
