Responsibility for Supervision
The responsibility for quality control and standards of workmanship belongs to the principal contractor who, in the case of owner builder work, is nominated on the owner builder permit. You should consider employing someone else with the necessary experience if you do not feel confident in meeting the required standards of workmanship.

Before entering into a contract with a licensed trade contractor or builder, you should inspect the quality of any work recently carried out by them.  This way, later problems with defective or non-compliant work may be avoided.

You are also responsible for the supervision of, and compliance with, safe work practices on the site.
Workplace Health and Safety (Qld) should be contacted if you are unsure of your role and responsibilities.
