BSA provides an auditing role only in assessing complaints in relation to sub-standard termite inspections or pre-purchase building inspections.
It is important that you are onsite for any pre-purchase inspections. This provides you with an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns you have with the inspector.
Pre-purchase inspection and termite inspection complaints
It is critical that you lodge the complaint with BSA as soon as possible after receipt of the pre-purchase inspection report or termite investigation report. Time delays may (in some circumstances) impact on BSA's ability to make accurate determinations on the content of the report.
How is a complaint lodged for pre-purchase complaints?
Complete the Residential and Commercial Building Work Complaint form
Provide a copy of the pre-purchase inspection report
Include a copy of a current rates notice or title deed for the property
Return the completed form and all documentation to BSA

What does BSA do?
If BSA can assist a building inspector will inspect the premises and issue you with an investigative report. No direction to rectify can be issued and BSA does not have the legislative powers to seek compensation for you. You can use the report in conjunction with legal advice in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal or Magistrates Court to seek compensation.
