What is the certifier's role?
Approve plans relating to new or altered buildings and structures.
Make sure all structures, buildings etc fall within the outline of the relevant Building Codes, Standards, Health and Safety issues and Local Community Planning schemes.
Undertake building inspections of buildings under construction to meet approved standards.
Issue certificates for building required inspections.
Give you and the local authority copies of all issued certificates of inspection.

What are mandatory inspection stages?
Stages when an inspection may be required:
Foundations and excavation (footings) - before footings are poured
Slab - before concrete is poured
Frame - before the cladding or lining is fixed or masonry construction commenced
Final - completion of all aspects of building work
Additional mandatory inspections may also be necessary for any plumbing or drainage works performed
