What is a Fire Protection Occupational Licence?
This is a licence for a person carrying out fire protection work that is issued by BSA. This is a licence for fire protection work issued by the BSA.  This licence is required by an employee or subcontractor who intends to carry out fire protection work for a licensed fire protection contractor. A licensee who holds a contractor or nominee supervisor licence in a relevant fire protection class is not required to also hold a fire protection occupational licence for the same fire protection work.

Note
- if you are applying for a Fire Protection Occupational licence you are required to complete and return the
Fire Protection Occupational Licence application form -  for more information go to Fire Protection Occupational Licensing.

When does an occupationally licensed person (other than the holder of a fire protection occupational license) require a BSA licence?
A BSA trade contractor licence is required when the holder of an occupational licence (other than a fire protection occupational licence) wants to carry out trade contractor work under a contract to owners or subcontract to builders to carry out occupational work.

How does an occupationally licensed person (other than the holder of a fire protection occupational licence) apply for a BSA Trade Contractor or Nominee Supervisor licence?
See licensing requirements for trade contractors and nominee supervisor.

Note: If you are the holder of an occupational licence (other than an Irrigation, Termite Management Chemical or Fire Protection Occupational Licence) you ARE NOT required to provide experience on the application form. You have already demonstrated experience to the other licensing body who issued the occupational licence.

What happens if an occupational licence (other than a fire protection occupational licence) is cancelled or suspended?
BSA may suspend or cancel the contractor or nominee supervisor licence issued.
