If you are a builder or tradesperson and wish to contract for rebuilding work you will need a BSA licence. Persons with an interstate licence can apply for a BSA licence via a
Mutual Recognition Application form and any Queensland tradesperson can apply on an
individual application form. Before commencing work, you will need an active licence.
How do I apply?
Complete an application form (Mutual Recognition or Individual)
Provide evidence of your active interstate licence or formal technical qualification on application.
All non-Mutual Recognition applicants will need to provide evidence of experience and referees
Can companies apply for a licence?
No, companies must apply as normal and are not able to access this licence process.
Do all tradespeople require a BSA licence?
If you are working as sub-trade contractor or employee only or are providing demolition services or general labouring work, you will not need a BSA licence. In other words you will only need a BSA licence if you are contracting to a consumer or builder.
