Can an individual licensee hold more than one licence class?
Yes - A licensee can hold more than one BSA licence class.
How does a licensee apply for a subsequent licence class?
The application process is the same for a subsequent licence class as for the original licence class/es. Current licensing entry requirements must be met at the time of applying for any licence class.
Trade contractors and designers
You can apply for a subsequent licence class by completing the appropriate form (e.g. Individual Application form, Site Supervisor Application form or Fire Occupational Application form). In addition to this you should follow the application requirements on the Trade Contractor and Designer page, however, you should note the following:
Financial information - will be based on the expected annual turnover of the total revenue derived by the licensee from all sources:
1. Not seeking to increase turnover and NOT applying for a builder class of licence - may rely on the financial information submitted at the last renewal
2. Expecting to exceed annual allowable turnover - must provide an updated financial report or self certification declaration for the expected turnover increase.
3. Trade contractor applying for a builder class of licence - applicants who do not currently hold a builder class but are applying for one are required, as a minimum, to meet the financial requirements for the Allowable Annual Turnover level of $300,000.
Managerial course - you are not required to complete a managerial course when applying for a subsequent licence (including applicants who did not obtain one for the licence they first applied for)
Fee - you will only be required to pay the application fee based on turnover
Builders

1. Not seeking to increase turnover - may rely on the financial information provided at the last renewal
2. Expecting to exceed allowable turnover - must provide an updated financial report

Can a company apply for a subsequent licence class?
Yes - Company applicants can apply for a subsequent licence class by completing a Company Application form and following the process for obtaining a licence on the Companies page, however, applicants should note the following:
Financial information - will be based on the expected turnover of the total revenue derived by the licensee from all sources:

NOTE - A Different ACN - If the company applying for a licence has a different ACN from the existing licensed company it will have to apply for a new licence as it is a new legal entity. This includes paying the full application and renewal fee. You cannot add another licence class to the existing company's BSA licence, in this instance.
