What is a Restriction or Condition?
Some licences are issued with a restriction or condition which limit the type of work to be performed under the licence.  Notice of the restriction or condition will be advised in writing upon approval of a licence.  BSA can also (at any time) impose a restriction or condition on an existing licence if there is reason to believe the licensee has insufficient financial resources or if there is some other proper ground for imposing the condition.

Notice of Intention
Notice is sent in writing advising of BSA's intention to impose a condition. You are given the opportunity to make written representations on the matter.

Occupational Licences
Licensees holding a licence in Plumbing, Draining, Irrigation, Gas Fitting or Termite Management Chemical are subject to a condition that the applicable occupational licence must be kept current.

Financial Requirements
All contractors and builders licences are subject to a condition that they must at all times satisfy the Financial Requirements for Licensing. It is a breach of licensing conditions to either increase Allowable Annual Turnover or reduce assets by 10% without obtaining prior written approval from BSA.

Performing work outside of a restriction or condition or failing to comply with any restriction or condition imposed may lead to prosecution for breaching BSA legislation. A licence may be suspended or cancelled as a result of the breach.

Removal of restrictions on Mutual Recognition applications
A licensee who receives a licence under Mutual Recognition may have restrictions imposed on scope of work covered by the licence depending on the state from which they are licensed. To have the restriction/condition lifted, licensees must meet the requirements as specified on the Mutual Recognition application form.

Your request must be submitted to BSA in writing and must include the supporting documentation. Requests to remove the restrictions to the licence can be made at the time of application or after the licence has been granted.

No additional fee is required if there is no change to your Allowable Annual Turnover.

Removal of other restrictions/conditions.
For the removal of any other restrictions/conditions imposed on your licence, please speak with a BSA officer to determine whether it is possible to have the condition or restriction removed and if there is any relevant documentation which should be provided to assist in the review of your licence condition/restriction.
